Description

This item features a fossilized Cambropallas Trilobite. Trilobites are an extinct hard shelled marine anthropod. It is estimated that there were over 15,000 species of Trilobite, making them the most diverse animal life form that has ever existed on Earth. These anthropods existed for over 270 million years ranging from the Cambrian period forward. The name Trilobite means ‘three lobes, so named for the three sections of the animal’s body: the left and right pleural lobes and the middle axial lobe. Often, Trilobites are referred to as the ‘butterflies of the sea’ due to their graceful body lines.

This specimen is a wonderfully preserved Cambropallas Trilobite in a matrix. The specimen weighs approximately 900 to 1300 grams and measures from 16 to 22cm long. Each specimen is unique. Product may not be exactly as shown in photo; picture is a typical example.
